If you want to really make my 3yo’s day you can do one of two things: 1. Say “Look how long your legs are getting!” in a completely unsolicited manner 2. When he says, “WATCH HOW *RUN* I CAN *FAST*!”, watch intently as he streaks out of or across the room

My new favorite hobby is playing theme songs from TV shows in the 70’s and 80’s for my children, aged 3-12, and asking them: “What show is this song from?” So far, MacGyver’s theme is from the movie Labyrinth and the A-Team theme sounds like a news program #TvLandOfTheLost

Finishing breakfast with my 3yo: 3: “Are you finished?” Me: “Yup!” 3: “Are we both finished?” Me: “We are!” 3: “Did we win?” Me: “Absolutely! Great job bud!” Followed by an adorable, beaming smile and a high five.

Dear carbon monoxide and smoke detector engineers: how do you design these devices to only start their low-battery chirp at exactly 3:02a, regardless of time zone or geographic location? It’s really impressive. I assume it has something to do with atomic clocks and magnets.
