i really wish folks would stop pitting epic fantasy shows against each other. there's room to love the wheel of time, the witcher, shadow and bone, house of the dragon, etc, etc, and not crap on the rings of power in the process. these shows are not in competition.

I'm still astonished when I hear credible journalists (including from NPR) glibly using the phrase "culture wars" to describe politics/stances that are about constitutional, civil, and human rights - and, generally speaking, coordinated attacks on those rights.
