I've been using Packer for a while, but there's a new kid in town github.com/folke/lazy.nvim. Although I was quite happy with Packer, the ability of lazy.nvim to install any missing plugin automatically comes in handy

The undo tree is one of Neovim's hidden gems. I use the famous Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Y key maps to navigate through it. Coupling that with the github.com/mbbill/undotree plugin lets you visualize any change done to a file

I use two kinds of key mappings in Neovim. Key mappings with the leader key for one-shot actions, like formatting the code. And key mappings with the CTRL key for actions that can be repeated quickly, like moving through the quickfix list items

I replaced Option (Alt) key mappings in Neovim by mappings using the Control key, because some of them don't work properly in macOS and Windows. This way I can use the same ones in both OS. However, I try to avoid overwriting useful native CTRL mappings

Lspconfig and gitsigns are two of my favorite Neovim plugins. Defining a couple of keymaps for loading their content into the quickfix list, you don't need extra keymaps to move through their items

I didn't see the point of using AI plugins for coding. But when I realized that they could generate unit tests, I changed my mind. Since then, I've been testing Copilot, ChatGPT, and Codeium in Neovim. Codeium is the clear winner.

It's not unusual to end up with many keymaps in Neovim that are difficult to remember. That's why I prefer to use keymaps only for native functionality, and a couple of plugin actions I use constantly. For the rest of the plugin actions, I like to use commands directly.

I've been using one of Neovim's Color scheme plugins for a while. But they don't work on the macOS terminal. So I've switched to disable terminal GUI colors in Neovim and use one of the native color schemes instead. And the result is pretty neat.
