Somebody should build this in a Rails app with @terminalwire and @TonsOfFun111’s ActiveAgent or @paolino’s RubyLLM.
CLI would stream from serve, be backed with those LLM libraries, and your app logic/billing would be in the middle.

I should talk more about @terminalwire now that Omarachy is a thing.
🤔
What if you could build a CLI for your Rails app that lives on your server and is part of your Rails monolith?
When you deploy a feature, the changes are immediately streamed to your user.
One of the nice things about open-sourcing @terminalwire is I can write project proposals on Github when people ask me a question about a feature that isn't fully built-out yet.
Then:
1. I will get paid to build it or
2. Somebody else builds it and it's contributed back

Terminalwire is open source!
I finally got to a point with the stack where I could slow down and think through which license would be best and landed on AGPL.

Any SaaS company owners want this as part of their kit?
@terminalwire can be setup to send your SaaS's web hook requests through a tunnel to a local dev's machine.
e.g. imagine if @clickfunnels had a `funnels dev -p 3000` and webhooks are sent to a devs local web server.

Build a two-step developer onboarding experience!
In this demo I show how SaaS, like @ModernTreasury, could use @terminalwire to streamline their developer onboarding, in this case 9 steps to 2.

If you like code spelunking without much explanation, I've deployed the Terminalwire developer experience demo.
This eliminates all the "to get your API key, click this, click that, blah blah blah" with two steps:
1. Install CLI
2. Get API Key

First public demo app for Terminalwire just dropped called DemoDNS!
This is what it would look like if you ran a DNS registrar on Rails, like @dnsimple, and wanted to offer your users a command-line interface to manage domains.

@yukihiro_matz I’m writing a series of articles about Tebako if anybody wants to follow along. I built @terminalwire binaries in Ruby and packaged it with Tebako.
So far so good! Next week’s article will be my opinion on using it in production.

Just dropped `alpha` from @terminalwire 0.3.0!
Most of these alpha iterations took care of everything @useTRMNL needed to ship their CLI to production.
A few cool things came out of these releases... 🧵👇
Instead of publishing a Ruby article on the Terminalwire website, I wrote about how @ryanckulp went from "a CLI is something a Series B company ships" to him coding it in a few days for @useTRMNL after he found @terminalwire.

Just pushed an update to @terminalwire that makes opening browser windows from your users' command-line interfaces as easy as `browser.launch root_url`.
I had to rewrite some of the plumbing to get Rails url helpers working from the CLI.
Here's the demo video and link in 🧵👇
Can't wait to get this `curl | bash` installer working for Terminalwire.
My plan is to have sub-domains people can use to distribute their apps with one curl command. Your users will run that and automatically have Terminalwire installed for their platform and your app.
🙌
Got the @terminalwire runtime down to 26Mb, which ain't too shabby when compared to other binaries & considering I didn't optimize anything.
Once that's installed, each subsequent binary is under 100 bytes.
In other words, installing `tinyzap` and `trmnl` is ~200 bytes.
🥰
Next up will be the one-liner `curl | bash` installer to get this distribution working on macOS arm64 architecture 💪🍎, then architectures will expand to include x86_64 and various Linux platforms.

I was hoping this would happen when I started building @terminalwire.
MCP integrates LLMs into applications via CLI’s. If you run a SaaS and want to quickly integrate it with AI via MCP, you could do it in a few hours with Terminalwire.
Let me say that with less acronyms
