When we pray, we are able to see things on earth align with the way things are in heaven. #TheLordBlessYou
What would happen if we would be hospitable to one another? If we would love people — not tolerate, but love people — who are different from us? What would happen if we looked at every stranger and assumed they were a messenger from God? #Hebrews13
As a leader, you can create an environment of hospitality that causes people to love loving people who are not like them. And that is a glorious thing.
This is the hospitality of God: He invites strangers to come in out of the darkness and experience His light and life. Hospitable leaders share this state of mind. This is our basic way of life.
Each of us was once alienated from God. But thankfully, He loves the stranger. The fact that we have been welcomed home should move us to welcome as well. How can those of us who have received grace not be gracious?
Sometimes we must re-cognize — or re-think — or re-frame things in our lives to focus on the food that God is working in and around us.
Just as surely as the dinner table is essential for a family to shape a child, so any leader should see hospitality as a means to shape people’s lives, help them grow and flourish, and move an organization’s mission forward.
A hospitable leader creates home wherever he or she is. Many of us lead in inhospitable places. We must be thermostats, not thermometers. We must set the temperature for success.
What is the proper response to Christ’s sacrifice? “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1
We must pay attention to the soft side of leadership if we want hard results. Many leaders are most focused on the information to be shared. We must do much more than transmit information. We must impart purpose, desire, love.
Hospitality is good in and of itself. But I want us to see the potential of hospitality to create a platform to engage people — to lead people from where they are to where they should be.

@terry_a_smith @terryshock Up until 2019 I took an 8-10 week sabbatical every other summer to touch base with family & friends in US. It gave me time for reflection & strategic planning. Always received fresh vision & new sermon series. No longer have the option, but highly recommend it. Do it if you can.
