@zelinarxy Indians will cheat at everything in school, I can confirm as an Indian who observes this in America. Cheating Indians are not smart in any way, they are going to work their way into important jobs and ruin this country once the doctors and engineers don't actually know anything.

@Oilfield_Rando Many Indians will also recognize there are too many Indians and that immigration from India should stop. Many know that India is a shithole that they escaped from. Those who exploited the system or still revere India can go back. We can return to normal levels.

@FrenlyOfficer This culture is disgusting and unamerican. Asians get pressured and squeezed in school, which forces them to cheat on everything. Whether they should do that or not (they shouldn't) it happens. We will end up with cheaters in the workforce as doctors, engineers etc. Not smart.

One of the aspects of this current debate that is sad is how unAmerican everything that Vedant describes here is. Vedant had a fundamentally Indian, fundamentally Asian experience in high school. He may have been physically located in Texas, but he was living in Little India if this description is accurate. This is the Asian mindset--striving, studying, testing, fighting for placement. This is why Korea shuts down the country to have quiet on Test Day. This is why Singaporean students labor from dawn to dusk to get placement in the university. This is the East. Almost nothing described here is the Western tradition, the American tradition. The description of high school here is hell to an American mind. I would never, ever allow my children to have a teenage experience like this. This is not the kind of youth that creates stable, functional adults. This is not the kind of youth that builds a healthy, functional society and healthy, prosperous families over generations. This is not the kind of youth I want any child to have. @vedantnair__ , I respect your character, your work ethic, and your commitment to reaching excellence as you understand it. But try to spend some time outside of your cultural enclave and recognize that you don't have to--you shouldn't have to--live like this. There's a much better pathway. This is one of the reasons why the reaction of the current cultural conflict is so intense. When you describe your youth, you are not describing the youth that any American parent wants his children to endure. Saying that this represents "American exceptionalism" or "American meritocracy" is to fundamentally misunderstand the American culture. That's why the outrage is so intense.

@JoshuaSheats This is 100% true and what the debate should be about. Asian/Indian cultural pressure also forces kids to cheat their way through school. As a result, we are going to be left with our top engineers being stupid and ruining our country since they aren't actually smart.
