We had the chance to work alongside the Eastern University Soccer Team during their first week back. They spent time getting to know our community’s history, got their hands dirty in the garden, and helped clear out a house that will soon be handed over to neighbors.
We celebrate the brilliance & resilience of the Latinx community & to hold space for the ongoing injustices. Resist the systems that teach us to fear or hate our neighbors. Choose stories that reimagine a world where diversity is a strength & community is our greatest power.

Our first day of tutoring was a success! This is about building confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Education shouldn’t be a struggle, it should be a launchpad! When we invest in our kids early, we set them up for success later.
We’re opening our community library for an extra day! We love spending time together, talking about stories, sharing ideas, and growing our knowledge. Reading is power. Books are power. Education is power. Here is to building a stronger, more informed community!

Can you believe this is what our library looked like just three months ago? What started as a few empty shelves is now a vibrant, overflowing space, all because of YOU. We’re already dreaming up more shelves to keep up with the excitement. Thank you for building it with us!
Happy First Day of School, Philadelphia! We loved seeing so many kids pick out their backpacks last week! Now the block’s a little quieter with everyone back in class, but we’re excited for what the year holds!
This year, we served over 2,000 lunches to kids in our community. We’re especially grateful for Katerina, who showed up every week, ready to share meals and spend time with our younger neighbors. Care, community, friendship, laughter AND FOOD!
This fall, we’re launching two weekly reading clubs — one for 3rd & 4th graders, and another for 6th–8th graders. We're excited to create space for students to connect with each other and with great books. Because reading isn’t just learning — Reading is Resistance. 💥📖
Back to School Event 2025! 🎒📚 We had an amazing turnout with over 175 students joining us! There was so much excitement as kids picked out fun colors for backpacks and pencil cases. Thanks to our volunteers and those who donated to make this happen!
We hosted an extra date for our Baby Goods Exchange! Thanks to Circle Thrift, we had plenty of items, toys, and clothing to share. This event works because of our amazing volunteers. We’re so grateful to everyone who keeps showing up!
Tomorrow is our School Supplies Giveaway! 🎒 Come visit us at 3234 Potter St from 2PM to 4PM. Children must be present to receive supplies. Supplies will be available until they last! We can’t wait to see you there!
Nothing says summer like sharing watermelon on a hot day! 🍉 We’ve been providing summer lunches five days a week since June 17th—serving about 50 meals a day, sometimes even more. That adds up to over 1,000 meals served so far this summer!
Inside our space, we have a lending library with a permanent collection of books—we also have so many books to share for neighbors to keep and take home. We’re excited to be planning a little free library right outside our building to share stories and knowledge all week long.
Library: TODAY, 12–3PM Thanks to a few generous donors, we were able to order so many new books! Libraries bring people together, and there’s nothing like the joy (and quiet pride) of finishing a great book, something we’ve seen again and again in our own community.
