We can both acknowledge that AI is going to radically shift the tech industry AND believe that there are going to be some major setbacks and delays along the way. The all or nothing thinking around AI, specifically GenAI, is driving me nuts.

In #agile, it's important to understand the difference between stakeholders & customers.Stakeholders have a vested interest in the outcome, while customers are the end-users of the product. Both are important, but addressing customer needs should be a top priority.

No amount of data will help you if your company’s main problems are a lack of psychological safety, control-focused management, no trust, an inability to prioritize customer value, &c. You do not need data to either identify or fix those problems.

I hear the "if everyone’s responsible, no one is" chestnut a lot. I don’t buy it. In the most effective teams I’ve worked with, everyone cared about the entire system. 1/2

A "QA role inside the team" is a waterfall silo. It’s a dependency that slows your delivery speed. You are just doing a mini waterfall (with a QA phase) within the team. Quality should be pervasive. Quality is everybody’s concern.

Building a Culture of Shared Responsibility is important to me. As a basketball fan, I don't want a team mate to watch the ball roll out of bounds and say "Why did you cause that turn over?" Agile is a team sport.

Organizational Change Management teaches us that change will cause a productivity dip. If we are unwilling to accept this dip, we are unwilling to advocate for change. We can influence the depth and duration of the dip, however.
