Ladies: A restraining order is just useless a piece of paper. People will standby and watch, but ultimately no one is going to protect/save you. You must learn how to embrace self-defense and to defend yourself… especially with the most effective self-defense tool available to you-a gun.

@thereal_SnS One story I read said the restraining order was never issued because she didn't show up to court. How does that make sense? I wish she had been armed and trained
@thereal_SnS The police do not have a duty to save you. Take agency in your own safety. Get armed.
@thereal_SnS But Maryland. Almost impossible for her to get a CCW there.
@thereal_SnS Oftentimes all a restraining order really does is exacerbate the situation. I mean at that point, someone is either going to leave the other person alone or they're going to escalate things.
I had a 'discussion' with someone on Reddit about the efficacy of restraining order. Yes, it can be part of a layered defense, but the next layer needs to be the ability to use force and self-defense. As we know, a handgun is often the best way to do that, especially for a woman against a man.
@thereal_SnS Poor girl. My heart aches for her and her family. 😢
@thereal_SnS Every woman needs to read “The Gift of Fear.” Which gives advice far beyond “get a restraining order.”
@thereal_SnS Government paper work is meaningless
