Glenavy Orange Hall in Co. Antrim has been attacked overnight with paint bombs by sectarian bigots.
I was nine when this happened and my dad was in Belfast on duty as a police officer. I remember the TV footage of body parts being shovelled into bags. You can imagine the Ulsterbus workers deperately running round to find the bombs and being massacred along with the 2 soldiers.
Today is the anniversary of Bloody Friday, in 1972. 9 people murdered & 130 injured by approx 20 bombs detonated in Belfast by PIRA, in little over an hour. Despite excuses, this was cold blooded, deliberate targeting of civilians by PIRA. I will be posting a blog on this later.
