@CincyJungle I assume this is also a function of Burrow getting rid of the ball quickly and throwing a lot underneath. Less time to separate, but also less separation required for shorter throws

@beaubaz @JoeGoodberry That's because Burrow isn't good with the types of play calls that Flacco is. Burrow is incredible, but he's not good at under center play action, which creates easy completions. I don't know what ZT can do about that

@JimmyGuappolo @JoeGoodberry I disagree, but you may be right. Bengals have moved the ball effectively so far. They haven't finished drives well enough and have had high leverage turnovers. I think/hope they fix those, and IMO they'll be fine

@JimmyGuappolo @JoeGoodberry I think I had scrubbed that game from my memory 😂. But they scored 33, 38, and 42 with Flacco and 30+ in 4 of 6 games with Burrow. Offense is not perfect, but it's consistently very good

@JimmyGuappolo @JoeGoodberry Well they also didn't have Iosivas or Chase for basically the whole game + Higgins on the last drive. Offense was still elite in 2024 and back half of 2025 once Burrow came back

@JimmyGuappolo @JoeGoodberry Maybe. But playing on hard mode still got them 450 yards today. That's really good! Feels to me like they're just slightly out of rhythm, and they'll get it locked in soon

@JoeGoodberry I do too. And as much as we all want more easy buttons in the offense, our elite QB doesn't want to do the things that can yield the easier solutions, like going under center and PA, and in fact he's worse with them. So I'm not sure what ZT should change

@davebiddle Maybe, but it was a good playcall and Smith had a couple steps on the guy in single coverage. Just really underthrown

@ZoneTracks But that's because they didn't do much on the drives that didn't end in turnover either. The reason Allen's turnovers didn't matter is because the Chargers/Herbert couldn't do anything against buffalo's terrible defense

@Soly_Reds @RedsInFour Yes. WAR's not determining the better player, but value to their team, which is context dependent. Sal could have more WAR on a team where he played a more valuable position (if he played it decently), but the Reds are (poorly) trying to optimize for team value, not Sal's value

@Soly_Reds @RedsInFour Wouldn't you say that Sal is "dinged" by not playing 3B in that his WAR as an average defensive 3B would be much higher than as an average defensive 1B? Reds could make the argument that Sal at 1B makes for the best overall team bit doesn't maximize his WAR

@GoodmanHoops Is he talking about the guy that scored 49 the other night and is probably even better defensively than offensively?

@bykevinclark Coleman may be a bust, but Beane not wanting to draft him means he still wasn't doing anything to upgrade the WR position. It's either bad evaluation of a player or bad evaluation of the state of the WR room

@davebiddle @OHallstarbilo4 Slowik was so bad. Extremely predictable. First and second down run followed by praying that Stroud could bail them out on 3rd and long. Stroud was a magician that first year, but it wasn't sustainable. Would have been malpractice to bring Slowik back, but they need to try again

@OHallstarbilo4 @davebiddle Because he also coached the Texans offense last year, and they were terrible. Slowik had a great first year but never seemed to adjust last year, and it was really bad
