Wanda Dench is an Arizona grandmother who became famous in 2016 for accidentally texting an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner to Jamal Hinton, then a 17-year-old high schooler. Hinton, who has since grown a social media following, jokingly accepted the invitation, starting a tradition of the two celebrating the annual holiday.
“It's always amazing to meet someone and talk to them for a couple minutes when you're out, or if anyone recognizes me from a Thanksgiving story or anything like that,” Hinton told PEOPLE earlier this month. “But to be able to sit down and actually talk to them for a full day, and especially sometimes with no media around or to really just get to know each other, I think that that's going to be a beautiful friendship that can continue for years, kind of like me and Wanda,” he added.

"I'm a 31 year old, tired, Nurse at a level 1 trauma Hospital. I just watched my best friend on ring doorbell run away after dropping a goodie basket. The note says how much she loves me and reminding me how self-care is important! This helps renew my strength to continue to fight." Credit: KelseyA89 -www.reddit.com/user/KelseyA89
