The #Saints have assembled a quarterback room that is the least threatening to Derek Carr. Why would a team who has dealt with injuries at the Quarterback position since 2020 not go after a solid veteran backup quarterback that has won games in this league?
@tjayjones8 The Saints drafted Haener to be the back-up. If not now, when does he get his chance? Never? If Haener fails, they can bring in a Flacco or a vet in from off the street. Wait until after week 1, and his contract is week to week.
@tjayjones8 Because this isn't 2018. The fans were wanting for the Saints to go into rebuilding mode and so here they are (some of us could see that the fans were going to be unhappy about that, once the fans could see what rebuilding mode actually means).
@tjayjones8 And Loomis said that the team and staff should feel "uncomfortable"...yeah right lol
@tjayjones8 We get it. You HATE Derek Carr. The Saints don’t. He is going to start next season no matter who is in the quarterback room.
@tjayjones8 How many solid veteran back up QB's are willing to come to the Saints???
@tjayjones8 Well a) there's an affordability issue with a veteran QB, and b) there's no veteran QB out there that makes any real difference, or would be substantially better than Carr. The future at QB isn't on the roster yet.
@tjayjones8 With that being said, I think we might get one in the first three rounds
