By any measure, it was an embarrassing episode for Sununu. But here’s the point: It’s not just Sununu. This is what’s in store for the entire Republican Party. In 2024, any Republican who backs Trump will be in the same position as Sununu. Every Republican at every level — up and down the ballot — will have to defend what Peter Wehner calls Trump’s “kaleidoscopic corruption.” All of it. Again and again. msn.com/en-us/news/pol…
@SykesCharlie Not necessarily… because the media is normalizing Trump’s crimes & corruption & still promoting him as an acceptable, viable candidate for ‘24 while “both-siding” things to level the playing field between Trump & Biden. The media is failing once again.
@tod_young @SykesCharlie And the Supreme Court has failed us dramatically. The mechanisms in place to stop this egregious behavior are being dismantled one after another.
@tod_young @SykesCharlie Agree except for publications like @TheAtlantic and networks like @MSNBC starting at 4PM Eastern daily, and of course some of the best journalists and podcasts like @SykesCharlie and like @ProjectLincoln and many more like that who are NOT lying to USA!
@tod_young @SykesCharlie Exactly. They are also betting on the American public’s collective amnesia, which frankly, is a pretty good bet!
@tod_young @SykesCharlie The 24 hour news cycle NEEDS a close race to reach their ratings targets. There’s too much consolidation of major media ownership. They exert pressure upon the objectivity of news reporters & commentators. Their political donations protects their monopolies & stifles dissent.
@tod_young @SykesCharlie It’s all of the above plus laziness. For republicans, they’ve been exposed to the strict “power grab” option and it’s more appealing AND easier. No need to articulate any policy other than immigration. No need to argue for policies a majority of Americans oppose. Simpler, easier.
@tod_young @SykesCharlie Legacy Media functions, by design, to promote the 🐎 🐎 race for 👀👀 instead of serving the public interest.
