We can't forget about history, but bringing reparations topic in 2026 is completly unnecessary - ok history between Poland and Germany was tough, but we as Poles need to stop with this victim mentality and just move on. Our cultures are way too similar, and yeah our great, great great granparents were fighting with each other, but throughout history sometimes it was Poland that was winning, sometimes Germany. It just happened that Poland was losing the last 200 years of battles (: We should be a proud nation, and we can't be proud if we will always be thinking about ourselves as a victim of history. In our best interest is to have strong Germany as our neighbour - the only reality in which Poland and Germany mean something on the world stage in the future is if there will be cooperation between these two. Instead of looking for money from a struggling country we should find finally a niche in which we could excel.. this will bring much more profit than reparations, we have enormous potential, let's not waste it on unnecessary arguments.

@Options4Fire Amazon ma dużo większy sens za granica niż w PL, przykładowo w UK masz dostawę do domu w ten sam dzień lub jutro, jest to dosyć wygodne. UI to inna sprawa, to faktycznie jest dramat.

think I was trying to explain with my question that's not as simple task as "let's just build a big pan-european exchange" - European countries still don't think about Europe as a whole, so for them their priority is protecting their national interest. Now, you could argue that in their national interest is to not be irrelevant against US / China, but if you place this market in London (Paris / Frankfurt) for most of the countries it's still a choice of not being irrelevant vs UK/France/Germany or US/China.. the former three countries also prioritize national interests above European :) So it's quite difficult task to accomplish

I remember seeing for the first time “Poland. More than you expected” couple of months ago at the Chopin Airport. It made me angry and sad - this feeling of inferiority needs to stop if Poland wants to get where it should/can be in terms of its political & cultural footprint. Hey it’s beautiful country, let’s stop assuming tourists coming there think it’s some shithole!

@MrGrygas @thekevinjon Maybe there was no other way than selling out our own companies back in the days? Currently we have highly functioning economy, lack of problems that are visible in Western/Southern Europe, which provides a good base to start getting back what was ours back in the day.

There is a chance that the damage to Leopold’s reputation will do more harm than July losses themselves - can’t imagine serious people keeping serious money in a “kid’s fund who doesn’t know risk management”. Will be interesting to see fund outflows (if these are not forbidden by some rules) in the coming months

@SyIvain @aporia9n That’s good to know! I spent about 2weeks hiking around Issyk Kul and found mainly Russian/Polish/Chinese/Australian tourists (Chinese were doing mostly horse trips), glad to hear that French are enjoying post-Soviet countries too! :D

I agree with the non-existent ubran planning concepts - it's not a pleasant sight.. but similar thing happens in the US, maybe that's one of the pre-requirements for growth though? Haven't really noticed the "missing amenities" or "unaddressed transport accessibility", big cities are well-connected by trains/buses, in smaller cities/villages most of the people own car

Ciekawe - od jakiegoś czasu nie mieszkam w Polsce, ale bywam tam często i moje spostrzeżenia są zupełnie inne. Warszawa zmienia się bardzo mało, natomiast taki Poznań to niebo a ziemia w 2026 w porównaniu z tym co było jeszcze w 2015. Może też mniej zwracam uwagę na ludzi a więcej na otoczenie (budynki, ulice, parki itd)

It's my fresh idea, to diversify slightly from stock portfolio - looking at places in Poland now with forest and river/small lake next to it. I don't know about UK, but in Poland if an area is considered a "forest" or something similar it's much cheaper than land designated for buildings (and I'm talking about it being like 10x cheaper or so, ofc depends) - technically you cannot build anything there + use it only for some designated activites, but my bet here is ... you know, laws can always change, we don't know how world will look like 20y from now, but the pictersque land will stay :)

I somehow have a lot of faith that will change anyway - people start to realize that the promoted "experience as much as you can" lifestyle is quite empty after couple of years.. which means that this might become less prestigious for young people who will once again find fullfilment in creating families (:
