Oh for heaven’s sake! Call children what they want to be called and get on with teaching (including how to be a kind and considerate human being)…

@tomdoorley I’m a teacher, I’m a woman. I refuse to teach and acknowledge that reality is anything other than just that. Women are women and men are men. It is not possible to change sex. We need to teach a broad acceptance of difference within the realm of reality.
@CathYeuxVerts I'm not asking you to do that. Just call children by the names they prefer and be kind.
@tomdoorley @CathYeuxVerts Being very bossy and demanding to a woman who is telling you she will not teach falsehoods to children does not come across as “be kind”. Social transition is not the benign act you seem to think it is. I agree with the teacher. It’s not fair to confuse kids.
@tomdoorley @CathYeuxVerts Are you aware that calling a child by another name (beyond a nickname/diminutive of own name) & switching pronouns is NOT a neutral act of kindness? Evidence shows it concretises thinking & pushes child further along path to medicalisation? So your “be kind” isn’t kind at all
@tomdoorley @CathYeuxVerts I much prefer to live my life by the mantra "have integrity" than "be kind". And I do not feel it is in anyway helpful to confused young people long term to engage in the fallacy that humans can change sex. Are you aware of the Cass Report Tom?
@tomdoorley @CathYeuxVerts Umm, No! How about calling them by their given name? Otherwise there would be lots of ‘Gits’, ‘Decos’ and ‘Whackers’
@tomdoorley @CathYeuxVerts And in this situation Tom? When the teenage boy has been affirmed as a girl throughout school, becomes a man and wants to play sports on women’s teams? What then? Are you going to tell women & girls on those teams to “be kind” as well?
@tomdoorley By calling them by something other than they are is doing just that. It’s playing the game. It’s not about being unkind.
