I’m so used to watching YouTube videos, tiktok videos, insta reels etc at 2x speed by pressing and holding on the screen. Watching stuff limited to just 1x speed on iPlayer feels so slow, clunky, and uninteractive by comparison.

Speaking to friends in finance last night I was a little taken aback how significantly Andy Burnham's words on the bond markets had been taken. Those comments from the Manchester Mayor had a material impact on the price of government borrowing.
This government inherited a mess. And then proceeded to make it messier still. Growth down. Inflation up. Borrowing costs soaring.
Currently bitterly regret wearing a thick jacket as I gently boil on this surprisingly sweltering tube carriage. September is truly the cruelest month. Just as it convinces you things are arctic, BAM! It’s boiling again!
