NEW: Uvalde school district superintendent Hal Harrell said in a news conference that officials are looking to hire more police officers to patrol campuses. Officials say the district is "collaborating" with investigators but they won't talk about personnel matters.
@tplohetski Hmm so now there will be 25-30 law enforcement waiting outside while a massacre is happening
@tplohetski This is the illusion that more = better... it's not
@tplohetski @nikigriswold Cool, more taxpayer money spent on people that stand around while children are murdered
@tplohetski Or we could just stop 18 year old's from building an arsenal legally?
@tplohetski Maybe he should look into getting automatic door locks that actually work.
@tplohetski So…….more police to stand around and do nothing??
@tplohetski Weren't there more than a dozen on site during the shooting doing nothing? Now the district wants to hire more to do nothing?
@tplohetski Conservatives believe that police presence is what prevents crime. They are consistent about lowering crime by adding cops. Here is doesn't matter that the police were ineffective. Their working theory is that there wasn't enough 'deterrence'.
