Senator Lieberman, you were the first senator I met while interning in the Senate in the spring of 2000. I wasn’t your intern, but you could not have been more kind, and gracious in answering my questions. As a Jew, seeing you be the first Jewish American on a major party ticket, was inspiring. May your memory be a blessing.
@tracy_walder I respected him but he was of a different era. He’s like John McCain in that you may not have agreed with his position, but you never doubted his dedication to the country.
@tracy_walder Truly the end of an era of actual political bipartisanship. Lieberman, Reagan, O'Neill, Jackson, Bush Sr., Nunn, Hatch, Dodd, etc. Now it's everyone to their own corners.
@tracy_walder Sen. Lieberman was the one who, while chatting after our meeting ended, asked Director Mueller what his biggest challenge was as FBI Director. “Getting the truth. Decisions are only as good as the information on which they are based.” Great question & answer. You’ll be missed 😢
@tracy_walder Definitely a good man from my neighboring state.
