Never thought I'd be here but I'm really becoming anti-technology when it comes to schools. Bring back pens, pencils, and notebooks, especially for younger students. The pros just do not outweigh the cons for me.
@tracyrenee70 I cringe to think I used to brag about my schools being at the forefront of tech integration (and two schools I led really were) but I had no idea the promising tools of tech integration would have turned into a nightmare for student engagement and achievement.
@tracyrenee70 The 1st full yr back after the online yr, I did way too much on the Chromebooks because they kept throwing more and more digital tools at us. I got tired of it and overwhelmed and my Ss weren’t learning as much. Last yr and this yr we have been on paper and pencil. Much better.
@tracyrenee70 Yes, I agree. Young children need foundational skills. Among these are social skills, problem solving, and appropriate use of resources. No Kinder is going to learn how to handle a pair of scissors on an IPad.
@tracyrenee70 And textbooks. Give us textbooks that aren’t online.
