keeping a chat open just because your agent would lose the context otherwise is a pretty good sign that memory lives in the wrong place.
in idem, you can start a fresh chat without starting over.
we've been talking about @tryidem for a while here, it's time we officially introduce it.
🥁
a personal agent shouldn’t be a finished product.
an agent becomes “personal” by getting to know you.
we’re launching idem: you shape it through conversation. every interaction adds

Working on several things at once gets messy when everything happens in the same thread.
Each task needs its own conversation, where you can follow its progress, ask a question or pick it up later without getting in the way of the others.
A single, endless thread is an awful way to communicate with a personal agent
Different tasks need different context. Mixing them into one conversation makes things more confusing for both the agent and the user
Separate threads keep each topic focused
Next Wednesday, 28 October, we’re bringing a group of founders together for an open conversation about Europe’s role in AI: what we’re building here, what’s holding us back, and what we can do about it.
We’ll have a round table with @danipolymath from @SupersonikAI and Victor García from @NeuralTrustAI, followed by an open conversation where everyone can join in and ask questions. Then food and drinks.
The event will take place at @Itnig, in Barcelona.

a personal agent should save you work, including having to read more text
choosing an option or approving an action shouldn't require another prompt
"no new interfaces" is a weird goal when the old one gets in the way
we’ve added missions to idem for tasks that take a long time.
you agree on what needs to get done and what counts as finished.
idem makes a plan and keeps working, with progress you can inspect.
it stops when the work is done or there’s a blocker it can’t resolve (purchases, messages, etc)
and there’s one more thing coming soon, see if you can spot it.
@tryidem x @Shopify — We've integrated Shopify shopping into Idem. It will now find you products from Shopify merchants, add them to your card, and you will be able to checkout securely straight from Idem.
a lot of people are gonna wake up to a hard truth: years of teaching a personal agent how they think, work and make decisions are trapped inside a black box owned by someone else
leaving means starting from scratch
your agent will become the most valuable piece of software you
yay our ai agent won’t get another anus-looking logo!
i’m not a pro at squeezing big concepts into tiny graphics, but i wanted this one to feel like a companion that sticks with you. light and effortless, like something you doodle in the margins of your notebook while thinking
