“all they know is be bisexual, eat hot chip and lie”
@up2anth people not being able to comprehend wanting a review from someone who's a normal person and not an actual film critique is kind of ridiculous. like if I'm looking for a restaurant to eat at I'm checking google reviews, not a food reviewer's website 💀
@up2anth Best way to solve this is to follow the people who do serious reviews, and then go to Friend’s reviews instead of everyone.
@up2anth people on letterboxd try too hard to write silly little quirky jokes that nobody else will see rather than actually giving any opinions on the movie
@up2anth Letterboxd needs a “helpful” like and a “funny” like. Steam added this and it made their reviews much more helpful.
@up2anth unfortunately it’s bc joke reviews get the most engagement since so many people lack the attention span needed to read over a paragraph especially if it’s sincere (myself included sometimes ngl) they should make a separate section for actual reviews honestly 😭
@up2anth Letterboxd is and always has been pretty good/accurate for ratings and more reliable than other sites. But I would never go to letterboxd for reviews (even though I be writing essays on there for every film I watch), I go to YouTubers, they usually go the most in depth.
@up2anth Feel free to leave the pretentious echo chamber whenever you want, Criticless will take you with open arms 😁🤘🏻
