Mr. @prasoonjoshi_
Can you please enlighten us on why 127 cuts were recommended for the film Panjab '95?
The same film, now renamed ‘Satluj’, has been taken down from an OTT platform in less than two days. The CBFC has no jurisdiction over OTT platforms or international releases.
Panjab '95 tells the story of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a man who exposed documented human rights abuses and paid for it with his life. If a film based on documented facts cannot be seen by Indian audiences, then the public deserves to know why.
This sends a very direct message to filmmakers and production companies: if you're paying homage to a great personality from a minority community, you'll have to face the CBFC.
Journalists should be asking the people running this censor board some hard questions. Why are some politically insensitive films able to pass with ease while others spend years in limbo?
A red carpet for Kashmir Files, Bengal Files, and Kerala Story. Roses for Dhurandar 1 & 2, a fictional documentary/explainer for the unthinkable and the unexplainable.
How does it feel to feast on four years of a director's career?
In Nehru's India, this would have been litigated in court. If filmmakers cannot tell the stories of people who stood up for justice without years of obstruction, what kind of cinema are we encouraging them to make?
Jaswant Singh Khalra Abducted again,
This time by the CBFC
This misinformation was propagated by a self-styled “UPSC coach,” Amit Kilhor, who has repeatedly pushed misleading narratives and coded dog whistles that fuel prejudice against SC/ST communities and undermine their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
@NCSC_GoI@dpradhanbjp
A false and misleading claim targeting an SC/ST students, suggesting they would misuse UGC regulations against upper-caste students was amplified by right wing trolls, including @JaipurDialogues.
Sri Ram College of Commerce @SRCCOfficial has now issued a clarification stating
On Jemimah Rodrigues, 'South Asia's Leading Multimedia News Agency' got a statement from the Managing committee member and Vice president. But did not feel it is important to get a statement from Khar Gymkhana president Vivek Devnani who denied the allegations and accused rivals of indulging in politics ahead of the club’s upcoming elections.
Why so @ANI@smitaprakash ?

Dear CM, they’re smiles of relief, not liberation.
If thousands of women still need to depend on ₹1,250 a month to survive in 2025, that’s not a picture of a thriving Assam but a mirror to how deeply poverty & dependency have been normalised.
Triumph of optics over empowerment.
I am receiving thousands of such photos from happy Baideos from across Assam, who are sharing their joy on receiving #Orunodoi3 benefits straight to their bank accounts.
BJP's biggest success has been in convincing their fanbase that something good is happening somewhere, maybe not around you. People who have never stepped in trains for years say with confidence India's trains are doing so much better, but the ones using it know the truth. Train using folks are meanwhile thinking airways has become better while those using flights know how much inflation and bad service has plagued it recently. Service people taxed heavily are thinking okay my taxes are heavy, but ease of doing business is getting better and India's a success story, while people in business know if anything it should be renamed to difficulty in doing business and most business success stories are in spite rather than because of the government.
Salaried Middle class people thinking that inflation is there for me but for farmers etc direct benefits helping them, while farmers know how much taxes they are having to pay on fertilizers pesticides etc.
More or less har jagah same hee story hai. Kahi toh acha ho Raha hai, humare aas paas shayad nahi, par Modiji kuch toh acha kar rahe hai.

this man is a perfect illustration of one way in which hate is manufactured today. afraid of calling out those in power, ashamed of his own cowardice when it is pointed out, he must lash out at another - in the worst possible, vile terms. hate is a form of self-loathing.
Haha.. Says a serial hate- monger, who has put so many lives in danger for his agenda. You disguising as a fact-checker is like Terrorists talking about peace.
Now post that you need money to survive and ask for donation for your website, no shame in living off by fooling
Got lucky and attended a private screening of @WhileWeWatched today.
There's a scene in the movie where a young regional news editor calls Ravish Kumar and he puts the phone on speaker.
The editor tells him how much admiration he has for Ravish and asks, "Sir is this how it's going to be? If we have to do journalism, we can't speak against the sarkaar?"
Ravish pauses.
"It's been 26 years that I've been doing this and even I'm asking myself that question," he responds.
"Should we stop doing this then sir? Leave journalism and leave this job?"
Ravish smiles and responds, "No... We'll continue doing our journalism... But the thing is, now you can either do journalism or do a job. Can't do both."
*That scene hit hard.*
Throughout the movie, there are moments which show a channel collapsing, people dropping off and leaving journalism every other day, vile threats coming to Ravish all the time, and people with shattered mental health just somehow doing their work.
Amidst all this madness, Ravish stares at a blank screen, writes "Namaskar main Ravish Kumar" and says it on live TV.
Every single day.
Can't really describe how inspiring this film truly is so I'll just end it with a quote by @ravishndtv himself:
"Not all battles are fought for victory - some are fought to tell the world that someone was there on the battlefield."
Thank you so much Vinay and to the team behind this movie. You have really done a giant service to humanity by putting this documentary film together.
Really hope more people get to see it.
🖖
