For years, some have said that the real threat to free speech isn't students—it is the state. This is some very unfortunate confirmation of this fact.

@victorerikray Even more unnerving from the front. A lot of them have three long-gun clips in their ammo vests. Makes me wonder if there are weapons trucks parked on campus loaded with assault rifles?
@victorerikray Yes some have said that. History wasn’t on their side.
@victorerikray At least the Vietnam protestors had a point. Not sure terrorists have a point.
@victorerikray @CeeHawk We know the state not students is the threat to free speech. And the answer is in the Bill of Rights. Not word one mentioned of “no student may restrict free speech”. But it has a lot to say about what the state is allowed to do and it’s explicitly clear that they may not.
@victorerikray Calm down grandma, they're going to be fine. It's performance art.
@victorerikray I bet most of the folks who said that will ignore this.
@victorerikray Incredibly disgusting that Abbott is so beholden to Jewish interests groups and the Israel lobby that he’d cross the line like this. He didn’t even do this during the BLM protests.
@victorerikray @SallieT77303451 Shades of Kent state.
