VP SARA’S IMPEACHMENT ISN’T THE REAL ISSUE—THE COUNTRY IS Editorial: Tio Moreno In my previous post, I laid out how Vice President Inday Sara Duterte is nothing more than a diversion tactic by the Marcos administration. They are using her to manipulate public attention and distract from the real crises plaguing the country. Read here: facebook.com/share/1AncEVW9… Just look at what has happened in the past few days: 📌February 3, 2025: Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. declared a FOOD SECURITY EMERGENCY due to the “extraordinary” rise in rice prices. This, despite the Philippines being the world’s top rice importer—an embarrassing reality for an agricultural nation. 📌February 4, 2025: The Supreme Court ordered House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Senate President Chiz Chiz Escudero, and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin to respond to a petition challenging the constitutionality of the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA). The issue? President Bongbong Marcos signed the budget despite blank spaces in the bicameral report—raising serious concerns about corruption and legalities. 📌February 4, 2025: During Supreme Court oral arguments, it was revealed that PhilHealth is bankrupt—a shocking failure of the government’s healthcare system. But still, this admin zero out PhilHealth’s budget. These are major issues that demand public attention. If we ignore them, the government will continue draining public funds and enriching itself at the expense of taxpayers. Even key political figures are raising alarms. Opposition figure like Franklin Drilon called the 2025 GAA “the most corrupt budget in Philippine history.” Meanwhile,Senator Imee R. Marcos—BBM’ own sister—described it as “the worst budget” she has ever seen. ✨THE IMPEACHMENT CASE IS A DELIBERATE COVER-UP TO CONCEAL THE SERIES OF CORRUPTION THEY ARE DOING✨ 📌February 4, 2025: The HOR summoned social media bloggers and vloggers who support the Dutertes for free. It became clear during the hearing that the goal was to cite them in contempt and detain them—possibly keeping them locked up until after the elections. To bury these scandals, the House of Representatives of the Philippines rushed VP Sara’s impeachment forward. Today, a caucus was scheduled for 10 AM, either in the Speaker’s Office or at Romualdez Hall. Some committee hearings were even canceled to prioritize this meeting. The agenda? A unified stance on VP Sara’s impeachment. Who led the hasty collection of signature? Rep. Janette Garin. One floating information as well says that lawmakers running unopposed in their districts were pressured into signing the impeachment resolution—ensuring they wouldn’t fear backlash from Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), whose bloc vote is a major political force. Tomorrow is the last session day before the break, and momentum for impeachment has been growing since last night. To be fair, chika indicates that President Marcos was consulted twice. While he declined to openly back the impeachment, Speaker Romualdez pushed ahead with signature-gathering anyway. It is Martin Romualdez. The mastermind of all these political maneuver. Congressmen from Visayas and Mindanao “somehow”hesitated, but ultimately, 206 signatures were secured today. And the impeachment will now be transmitted to the Senate of the Philippines for trial. Now, VP Sara dominates the headlines. Siya na ang talk of thre country. Nawawala na tayo sa blank spaces at iba pang issue. Expect the congressmen loyal to Romualdez—especially the attack dogs— the Young Guns—will flood the media with impeachment rhetoric and press cons drowning out the real issues: * The food security crisis * The unconstitutional budget * PhilHealth’s bankruptcy * The weaponization of Congress against critics This is why I say: VP SARA’S IMPEACHMENT ISN’T THE REAL ISSUE—THE COUNTRY IS. Filipinos, wake up.

FPGMA’s POWERFUL POINT: “I’ve attended countless budget hearings, and never have we dug into old local government budgets like this. The focus should be on the 2025 OVP budget, not past allocations from years ago.” This raises serious concerns about the direction of the hearing.
