उत्तरप्रदेश के ललितपुर का सिलावन गांव। शाम का वक्त। करीब 44-45 साल का एक शख्स लंगड़ाते हुए चला जा रहा था। वो इधर-उधर देख रहा था, जैसे किसी को पहचानने को कोशिश कर रहा हो। तभी उसे साइकिल से आता हुआ एक शख्स दिखा। उसने उसे रोककर कहा- ‘मेरा नाम विष्णु तिवारी है। क्या मुझे जानते हैं? मेरे घर का पता बता दो।’ उस शख्स ने हैरानी भरी नजरों से देखा और बोला- ‘भइया पागल हो क्या, तुम्हारा घर है और, मुझसे पूछ रहे हो।’ विष्णु ने एक के बाद एक, कई लोगों से अपने घर का पता पूछा, लेकिन सभी ने उन्हें पागल कहा। अब तक अंधेरा हो गया था। विष्णु थककर एक पेड़ के नीचे बैठ गए। तभी एक और शख्स वहां से गुजरा और विष्णु को देखते ही ठिठक गया। बोला- तुम विष्णु तिवारी हो न? पहचाना मुझे? तुम्हारा दोस्त सुरेश। विष्णु फौरन बोल पड़े- ‘मेरे भाई तुमने तो मुझे पहचान लिया’ दोस्त बोला-'तुम तो जेल में थे ना।’ विष्णु ने जवाब दिया- ‘झूठा मुकदमा था। 20 साल बाद हाईकोर्ट ने रिहा कर दिया। मेरे घर का पता तुम्हें याद हो तो घर पहुंचा दो।’ दोस्त ने कहा- ‘तुम्हारा घर तो रहने लायक बचा नहीं, चलकर देख लो।’ विष्णु, दोस्त के साथ अपने घर की ओर चल दिए। कुछ कदम चलने के बाद बोले- ‘घर में तो मेरी राह देखने वाला कोई जिंदा ही नहीं बचा।’ दोस्त बोला- ‘चाचा जिंदा हैं। उन्हीं के घर चले जाना।’ कुछ ही देर में विष्णु अपने घर पहुंचे। दोस्त ने मोबाइल का टॉर्च जलाया तो देखा टूटे दरवाजे में जंग लगा ताला लटक रहा था। दीवारें भी गिर चुकी थीं। विष्णु ने पास ही पड़ा हुआ एक पत्थर उठाया और ताला तोड़ दिया। अंदर जाकर देखा तो कचरे का ढेर लगा था। उसी ढेर में मां-पिताजी के वोटर आईडी मिले। कहीं दीवार गिर गई, तो कहीं मोटी-मोटी दरारें। विष्णु जमीन पर बैठकर फूट-फूटकर रोने लगे। दोस्त ने उन्हें संभाला और चाचा के घर ले गए। चाचा को देखते ही विष्णु बोले-‘सब खत्म हो गया चाचा। न घर बचा, न मां-बाप।’ चाचा ने पूछा जेल से कैसे छूटे। विष्णु बोले- ‘रेप का केस भी झूठा था और SC-ST का मुकदमा भी। इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट ने बाइज्जत बरी कर दिया।'
