I see idiots are still trying to blame a field that got torn out three years ago. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@trevorbaxendale Currently reading that. Found it at an Ollie's. Convenient timing since I had finally gotten around to reading the Fleming books.

📖 UNDERSTANDING NOAH: 他流試合 (Taryū-jiai) A term from Edo-period martial arts: a match between practitioners from different schools, not just different opponents, but genuinely different traditions and philosophies of technique. It carries real weight — unlike facing someone from your own background, you can’t predict what’s coming, and the result says something about whether your own training actually holds up. CHEN steps into N-1 VICTORY as a true outsider to NOAH’s specific style, coming from a wrestling background built entirely elsewhere. This tournament is his taryū-jiai — the real test of whether everything he’s built translates here. #noah_ghc

PRO WRESTLING NOAH @noahglobal

📖 UNDERSTANDING NOAH: 修行 (Shugyō) Western fans often see a former champion in the opening match and read it as a demotion. That’s not really how it reads in Japan — because the idea behind it isn’t specific to wrestling at all. Shugyō is a much older Japanese concept, rooted in Buddhist practice and applied across martial arts, traditional crafts, and apprenticeships generally: disciplined training aimed at real transformation, not just skill. A kendo student drilling the same strike thousands of times. A craftsman’s decade-long apprenticeship. The point isn’t proving you can already do something — it’s becoming someone through the process of doing it. Kaito Kiyomiya’s current run is a clear example: after a rough stretch chasing the GHC Heavyweight, he asked to open the card himself. That’s not a wrestler with nothing left. That’s a wrestler doing the work. #noah_ghc
