As a few examples: 1. Apollo contributed to medical imaging: Digital image-processing techniques from the Apollo program contributed to medical CT imaging, the very technology used in the post. 2. Space exploration gave us medical cameras: NASA developed CMOS active-pixel sensors to miniaturize spacecraft cameras. It’s since been used widely for endoscopes. 3. Black-hole research directly led to Wi-Fi: Australian scientists searching for Hawking radiation from evaporating black holes developed FFT hardware and signal-processing techniques that subsequently became foundational to IEEE 802.11a, 802.11g, and 802.11n: modern Wi-Fi. The entire point of scientific discovery is that you cannot know all its applications before you discover it. And even if none of these technologies had ever had widespread uses, exploring the universe would remain a worthy scientific endeavor in its own right.

There’s no bug, they’re either trolling or misunderstanding the C standard. They might mean the lack of a newline, which isn’t a bug. The program is almost exactly the same as the Microsoft C Compiler reference manual learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/buil… and the GNU C Reference Manual: gnu.org/software/gnu-c…
