June 6, 1944 D-Day. This is Stancy Cardwell. On that day, he stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. I spoke with him today about the events of that day. He carried a 60mm Mortar. He was behind the riflemen awaiting the range to fire the round. He will be 101 years old in July.
@wall_obx My dad, Kalman Isaacs, was at Normandy on D-Day+6. It was still pretty bad fighting at the time. He was only 19 at the time. Dad passed away in March 2020 at age 93 and is deeply missed. The picture is from late October 2016, when he proudly voted for Hillary Clinton.
@wall_obx My Grandfather died in the Normandy Invasion on Omaha Beach Whenever I see veterans who were there, I always wonder if they had known him, or perhaps a word passed between them I am so glad Stancy survived ❤️ I truly thank you 🙏🏼 for your service & bravery Mr Cardwell 🇺🇸
@wall_obx @charleswdavis66 Thanks. I'm a little confused by the short bio. It says D-day, June 6, but his hat says 2nd Division, which arrived the following day, right? D-Day was mainly 1st Division and 29th Division at Omaha.
@wall_obx God blessed you Sr ! Thank you for service ! 🦅💪🇺🇸
@wall_obx It would be a MortarMan to outlive us all ...
@wall_obx This is the definition of a man. This man is one of the reasons why this country, is the Greatest man has ever known. This man sacrificed so we all could be free, to have a chance to fulfill our dreams. Words can’t express my gratitude. Happy Birthday. God Bless You. 🇺🇸❤️
