Opinion: The trucking industry is in crisis. Here’s how government can help. wapo.st/30YlNRZ
@washingtonpost 'Crisis' and 'government help' don't jibe...
@washingtonpost Let's face it; the future for truck drivers is bleak❗️ Millions of good paying long haul truck driving jobs, are going to vanish as fleet companies start adopting self driving vehicles❗️ Instead of saber-rattling the government, perhaps the truckers can engage their employers❓
@washingtonpost The whole world has still yet to start reopening. SOME EVEN GOING BACK INTO SOME KIND OF LOCKDOWN...We're literally the only country that is acting like everything is back to normal consuming everything without consideration.
@washingtonpost Call me crazy, but I think the government has "helped" enough.
@washingtonpost Today I traveled from AZ to Ventura Co … Ca. I must have seen over 150 to 200 big rigs on the road… huge increase… plus at least three/ cargo trains with 50 to 60 cars…. Lots of product on the road…
@washingtonpost This is what happens when your rail/freight system is still in the 19th century. There should be an equivalent rail freeway system connecting maybe 12 major trucking/rail yards. No truck hauls a product more than 400 miles. Freight trains operate at about 120 mph.
@washingtonpost The government is the problem to begin with!
