Who can help? 1.) Public schools officials and administration 2.) Medical directors 3.) Doctors and nurses 4.) State and local public health departments 5.) Parents of children

We, as public health practitioners, have to take action. Giving educational seminars to parents at public schools, setting up vaccination clinics, spreading the word on social media, and stronger enforcement of the MMR vaccine can reduce the spread.

Not believing in science does not justify letting children get sick with a preventable illness. The Ohio outbreak of measles would be smaller if more children got the vaccination. Being fearful is not a justifiable reason when the outcome is an endemic of a contagious disease

With the recent Ohio measles outbreak, it is imperative to maintain and increase the vaccination of children with the MMR vaccine. Measles is a highly contagious disease. A vaccine protects from serious illness and death in the population. We all have the right to life.
