One of the biggest benefits for Tennessee basketball players is the presence of strength coach Garrett Medenwald and trainer Chad Newman. An NBA-caliber duo that gets results but refuses to risk the longterm health of players to do it. #Vols very lucky to have those two.

Not surprising to hear Rick Barnes wants to play it safe with the Knecht and Dilione injuries. #Vols hoops medical/training staff is excellent and almost always does that. Tobe Awaka might have come back a bit soon at first with that ankle, but he's a bull and wants to fight.

@jgoodman9 That's the other side of it, and it's a fair argument. It's still not the way I would have done it, though. I would have gone ahead and dropped them enough to make a point that they better REALLY impress against Louisville.
