My 10 year old was disciplined and shamed by her teacher today for singing ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ by Michael Jackson, her FAVORITE ARTIST. During free work time, Lilly was singing to herself and when her friend asked about the song, she explained the lyrics to him. She told me she was taken out into the hall and lectured that she is ‘too young’ to understand his music and that she should not be allowed to partake in it. Am… I wrong for wanting to schedule a 1-on-1 with this teacher? We are like 3 weeks into school at this point and while I understand we live in Florida, what the FUCK gives this woman the authority to speak to my child like this?

Back in the day we had a microwave that would randomly ding throughout the day. I was bored during summer break so I took it apart in the living room. My mom came home, seen all the pieces on the floor looked at me and shook her head while going to her room. She comes out like an hour later and I’m putting the last pieces back on and watches me from the couch. Once I finished and put it back in the kitchen I went to my room. The next morning she wakes me up to tell me she’s headed to work and all the things she expected to be done when she got home. She gives me the speech (don’t answer the door, play with fire, etc.) she walks out the house and she comes back in to yell “LEAVE MY DAMN APPLIANCES ALONE LIL GIRL” 😂😂😂😂 the next week I took the computer apart spent all day working on that Gateway. I still couldn’t get it to turn on 😂😂😂. That was my last school break on my own. I’m definitely responsible for a few of her gray hairs 😂😂😂. When I got bored I got REAL creative. The microwave didn’t randomly ding after that!
