One interesting thing in my adventures in blocking ppl: they think works like “racism” or “moving the goalposts” or “gaslighting” or even the concept of something being “systemic” are cheat codes to make people agree with you instead of specific terms with specific meanings
Again it doesn’t matter if you try to explain it to them—they don’t care. They don’t really care about racism, they just want the attempt to bludgeon someone with a tool they believe they have been bludgeoned by. But it’s remarkable how shallow the thinking is.
@xoxogossipgita TONS of usage, very little actual understanding.
@xoxogossipgita "oh look another person using the bad faith argument to shut down conversation 🙄" Ugh.
@xoxogossipgita Look at this one lol it’s so nonsensical it makes my head hurt.
@xoxogossipgita Yeah, I've seen some absolutely unhinged white supremacist stuff couched in the language of social justice. 'Woe is me! My mental health is being harmed by these gaslighting abusers and their anti-white racism!'
@xoxogossipgita People love to use big words to make themselves smarter and objectively correct, and it has the opposite effect.
@xoxogossipgita that they think everyone has the same simplistic grasp on things is both fascinating and chilling.
@xoxogossipgita Similar mentality of people who abuse “therapy language”; the actual meaning doesn’t matter, words are just another tool to bludgeon people into agreement or disappearing.
