Apparently @JohnSwinney has decided that #Scexit no longer requires a majority of the people of Scotland to actually vote for it, just for @theSNP to win a majority of seats in a general election. #PretendyRef heraldscotland.com/politics/20242…
@yescotland @JohnSwinney @theSNP When she said 'trigger' yesterday Johnny thought she was talking about him...ken ?
@yescotland @SCJohnston @JohnSwinney @theSNP It actually should require a majority of people in the whole UK to vote for it, since we are all equal citizens and all have equal rights to reside in Scotland.
@yescotland @JohnSwinney @theSNP That’s nonsense, seats aren’t the same as votes. Representative democracy is not the same as direct democracy, as referendum are. Some call it the purest form of democracy
@yescotland @samboardman99 @JohnSwinney @theSNP That’s how all dictators think. Be wary .
@yescotland @JohnSwinney @theSNP But that’s what you’ve got now John with your thing with the Greens so why do you have to wait till 2024 I’m so confused
@yescotland @JohnSwinney @theSNP It is what happens at every general election - the party with the most seats implements their policies, even if the majority of votes cast was not for them. It's the major flaw in FPTP, the SNP are just exploiting it the way Labour and the Tories do.
