Andrew Huberman recently declared: "Calories in, calories out is a fundamental law of how the body works." He's wrong — Calorie counting is a scam (bookmark this). 7 years ago, calories dictated my life. Every bite was a calculation, every meal an exercise in precise mathematics. Sure, this approach maintained my discipline but it came at a big price — it poisoned my peace. It turned me into an anxiety-ridden, neurotic shadow of my true self. Ironically, the day I stopped counting calories was the day I started living. Sanity was restored Muscle gain became effortless A lean physique was achieved easily And the best bit? I did it all without obsessing over every calorie. For decades now, millions of men have been duped into counting calories with limited success. How many times have you found you initially get results but then bounce back to your original weight and start the process all over again? Exactly.. it happens all the time. It's because it's a baseless fad, not a long-term health solution. Don't believe me? Contrary to widespread belief, the scientific foundation for calorie counting is actually fundamentally flawed. It's entrenched in deception and manipulation, masterminded by influential food and beverage corporations. These conglomerates invest billions annually in lobbying politicians and skewing public policies to serve their interests. Calorie counting is a prime example of their influence. The calorie concept was originally devised as a convenient tool, primarily to benefit large corporations like Coca-Cola. This strategy enabled them to deceitfully label harmful products as "healthy" options. Outrageous. But wait there's more (this will blow your mind). The entire concept of calorie counting rests on the assumption that our bodies function as closed thermodynamic systems. However, the reality is quite the opposite — We operate in an open thermodynamic system. What does this mean for us? Simply put, our bodies are incredibly responsive and react to external stimuli in various ways — some beneficial, others not so much. Take for instance the consumption of 9 calories of fat. You might ingest these calories through saturated fat or polyunsaturated fat. To most people, they're both just "fat." But here's where it gets interesting. These two types of fats impact your body in significantly different ways. Stearic acid, a component of saturated fat found in butter, is known to: • Boost metabolism • Support weight loss • Improve testosterone • Help maintain leanness In contrast... Linoleic acid, a common polyunsaturated fat found in seed oils, often has the opposite effect on your body (especially when it's hydrogenated). It can be anti-metabolic and pro-catabolic, by: • Impeding insulin function • Harming cardiovascular health • and contributing to weight gain This critical distinction underscores the flawed premise of calorie counting, highlighting the importance of understanding how different foods truly affect our bodies. So, if obsessing over calories and 'Macros' isn't the golden key, then what's the solution? When you scrutinize a food label, noting its macronutrient breakdown... "X protein," "Y fat," "Z carbs" It's only scratching the surface. What's often overlooked are the micronutrients that fundamentally influence the impact of these macros. Recall the earlier mention of "Stearic acid" and "Linoleic acid"? These aren't just random compounds; they're micronutrients that form the basis of the macronutrient. In other words... They're the true catalysts shaping your health and hormonal balance. But the most egregious failure of calorie counting? It instills a mindset where numbers become the sole benchmark for dietary decisions. This is a disastrous approach. The true measure of a food's value lies in its nutrient density, not in its calorie count. The absurdity of this calorie-centric view has led to a world where many opt for a "Diet Coke" over a regular one, lured by the "low calorie" tag. Yet, they're unwittingly ingesting harmful artificial sweeteners like aspartame and acesulfame K, notorious for causing gut and neurological issues. So, what's the real answer? Kick calorie counting and embrace the world of micronutrients. Instead, to get the best results for your body, mind and testosterone levels... Become fiercely obsessed over the micro-nutrient density of your food. Some of the best examples include: • Red meat • Organ meats • Kefir • Goat and sheep milk • Fish roe • Eggs • Collagen/broth • Oysters • Crab/lobster • Raw butter • Seasonal fruit After just 4 weeks of consistently eating these foods... I guarantee you'll witness monumental shifts in how you feel.. • Cravings? Vanquished. • Excess weight? Melt away. • Mood swings? Stabilized. • Libido? On fire. • Energy levels? Afternoons become a breeze. • Sleep quality? No more waking up to pee. Granted, it's not the flashiest solution, but I am absolutely convinced its efficacy is undeniable. Trust me: As someone who has spent thousands on professional medical help and... Overcome cancer, low testosterone, hypothyroid, and debilitating digestion issues... Eating this way has transformed my life in ways that are hard to put into words. With Summer right around the corner... What's stopping you from doing the same? Act now, or deal with regret later. The choice is yours. If you made it down this far and got value from this post... Consider giving me a follow @yoursimmo
Here's the clip of Huberman stating that quote:
@yoursimmo Yes. Huberman made the mistake of believing Norton's nonsense.
@yoursimmo Been waiting for someone to make this post. Thanks!
