Here's what's going to happen. WB has one of the best box office years in its company's history. It caps off the year by winning the Best Picture Oscar with One Battle After Another. Then it's ass gets sold. Jobs are lost. And we never get bold blockbusters from them anymore.

For those who will try to spin this as a loss, consider two things. 1) PTA has never had a movie open close to this, so it's a major win for his brand of New Hollywood type cinema. 2) The hold and awards will tell the story on this film, as the rave reviews point to a long run.

I was very pleased with two studio genre sequels I had been anticipating out of FF, Black Phone 2 and Sisu: Road to Revenge. I'm definitely all in on both of their sagas and think they've crafted iconic modern genre characters as well. Call me a sell out, but bring on parts 3!

Woof. I checked out Deadpool/Batman #1 and it was rough. It's basically a Free Comic Book day cash grab with next to no artistic merit. I don't know why they didn't just commission a whole series of extended one shots instead of this mish-mash of short stories that aren't good.

My favorite part of this is how Batman has only ever been renumbered four times. ASM has been renumbered seven times, with the most recent renumbering landing with a thud. Case in point: make it actually mean something when you do it!

Thanks for folks on social pointing this out, but the Eureka disc of Flaming Brothers is Region A capable. You can get this on Amazon right now for like $22, so if you're a die hard heroic bloodshed fan like me, go get it!
