It occurs to me that the concept of “living rent-free in someone’s head” only makes sense as an insult under capitalism. As a socialist who is consistent in their principles, everyone and everything in my head is living there rent-free, as they should be.

In a practical sense Content ID is replacing fair use. The de facto standard isn't legal fair use but "cleared Content ID" Is that messed up? That feels messed up.

Everything I write is self-insert wish fulfillment. Which is fine, but it makes it very hard to write long, complex, engaging stories, because as the author I always have the power to just write (in essence): "And then they fucked, and lived happily ever after. The end."

I don’t doubt that it’s sincere, since so many of them say it so often, but I truly don’t understand why so many video essayists apologize for making “long” (>10 minutes) videos. Without exception: I love your work, and am overjoyed when you give us lots more of it. ❤️

The answer is obvious and has always been obvious: - chase fascists out of the public square (including media platforms) - target and punish fascist demagogues (Tucker, Miller, etc) - disrupt their organizing efforts - fund counter-propaganda - defensive violence
