If you have payments due to the IRS and or state tax authorities, try to make them online. If not possible, mail a check + obtain proof of mailing & certified return receipt. A tracking number from the post office and or private delivery service (UPS, FedEx) could suffice.

As the October 16 US tax filing deadline is only 2 days away, don't wait until the last minute to file your 2022 US tax return. If you have shifted your tax home outside the US, you can write a letter to the IRS to request an extension to December 15 (s/j to IRS approval).
