Corporate income tax rate before the Trump tax cuts: 35% After the Trump tax cuts: 21% What many corporations actually paid with loopholes: 14% What Netflix, Bank of America, and Nike paid: Less than 5% What Trump’s planning for a second term? Even more corporate tax cuts.
Large, profitable corporations are now paying lower tax rates than working families in America. Donald Trump and Republicans have pledged to cut taxes for these corporations even further—while threatening Social Security, Medicare, and other programs for millions. Priorities.
We have loopholes for corporations that ship jobs overseas. We have loopholes for corporations to dodge taxes by hiding money in the Cayman Islands. We have loopholes for billionaires to pay lower tax rates than the rest of us. It's not "trickling down." Close the loopholes.
Don't let any Republicans get away with crying about the debt. Their tax cuts skewed to the wealthy and corporations under Bush and Trump have added $10 trillion to national debt. And they want to add another $4 trillion by extending the Trump tax scam.
The IRS is poised to collect over half a trillion dollars from rich tax cheats thanks to a law passed by Democrats. Every single republican in Congress voted against stopping millionaire tax crooks and republicans want to help them keep stealing from you.
Millionaires are paying about HALF the tax rate they did pre-1980. Where corporations once provided up to 1/3 of federal revenue—their share is now under 10%. The rich are richer than ever, and corporations are raking in record profits. "Trickle-down economics" is a failure.
The Trump tax scam isn't just about slashing taxes for wealthy and corporate donors. It's about blaming the deficit those tax cuts create on Social Security and Medicare. It's about cutting investments in working families to pay for high-end tax cuts. It's completely sinister.
Just in case you were wondering how the Trump-GOP tax cuts will be distributed in 2025: Households in the top 1% will get a $60,000 average tax cut. The bottom 60% will get less than $1 a day. This is why we call it a tax scam.
Closing just one loophole that allows hedge fund managers to pay a lower tax rate than working families would raise $6.5 BILLION. That's $6.5 billion we could invest in working people, instead of mega-yachts for Wall Street plutocrats. Close the carried interest loophole.
Last week, Tesla announced that they were laying off around 10% of their workers. Between 2018 and 2022, Tesla made $4.4 BILLION in profits—and they paid their top executives $2.5 BILLION. They also paid $0 in federal income taxes. Corporate greed is out of control.

If we had a billionaire income tax, we could ensure people have a work/life balance like billionaires get to have, and 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 they’d stop giving us so much unsolicited advice???
Every single Republican voted against providing the IRS with resources to go after wealthy tax cheats and improve taxpayer services. They lied about "86,000 new IRS agents" coming to bust down working families' doors. Here's what really happened:
Why on earth would we give more huge tax breaks to wealthy corporations that already exploit loopholes and avoid taxes—while forcing working families to deal with rising child care costs on their own? Explain it to me like I'm 5.
Wall Street hedge fund managers shouldn't be allowed to pay a lower tax rate than working families. But that's exactly what the carried interest tax loophole allows them to do. These are the loopholes we're talking about closing when we say tax the rich.

The richest 1% in America just hit a record $44.6 trillion in collective wealth. You'd need to have $11 million in wealth to be in the richest 1%. When we say tax the rich, this is who we're talking about. They can afford to pay their fair share.
