There has been no better time in history to be a beginner. An individual with an open mind and the grit to iteratively solve problems has at their fingertips many of the most crushing lessons of humanity's past.
Going through the Aoc 2023 problems as part of SolveIt with Code by @jeremyphoward and @johnowhitaker og @answerdotai. I just completed both parts of Day 1 from first principles as an Absolute Beginner++ and let me tell you, I have callouses on my brain.
Early mornings are somewhat of a slog, but first things first.
The most important scientific platform, right now, isn't at a big lab or at a mega corp
Sometimes, it's the little things where we have gaps in our knowledge. Things we don't ever notice or correct. TIL, -5² shouldn't be evaluated as (-5)². To me, it is an implied bit of PEMDAS and should be evaluated as -(5)². It's not a huge thing to fix, but it is foundational.

It’s crazy how people on this site don’t know that when you punch down / mean to others, it looks really bad and immediately erodes trust in you If someone constantly putting down others to acquaintances you know you can never trust them And we all see it, the bubble is small
