Why? Because you want to be the exception. “Not like other girls” is a divisive state of mind that keeps you from embracing the sisterhood. Women have to stick together and that won’t happen if women continue to judge and stereotype one another.
If you are a woman, and you think other women are inherently difficult to get along with, you are experiencing internal misogyny and you are subscribed to the patriarchy. I promise you men are also dramatic and catty and petty. You just ignore it.

@hannaweeen @ahhhhhhhimgay A few friends told me they were questioning it and then explained the symptoms and reasons why. Some of these friends were also diagnosed. It completely opened my world to the possibility because I had a very limited idea of what autism looked like.
Since society encourages women to be affectionate with one another anyway, it’s hard to tell that it’s more than friendship or idolization. It’s a straight up crush or attraction.
Liking girls when you are a girl is weird because crushing will sometimes look like other things. Like you might idolize them and want to be like them. You might want to be super close to them like best friends that hold hands and snuggle. You might feel intimidated by them.
My favorite thing about being NC with my dad is that I don’t have to listen to his stupid ass thoughts anymore.

@KindLittleBug @plantbasedangel My husband is a stoner and I’ve quit over the years because it just makes me anxious. It’s funny the things he wants to smoke before doing 😆. I think it helps with his ADHD though for that reason.

Not enough people talk about how lonely healing is. And how as you heal the pool of people you can connect with or spend time with shrinks, significantly.
Healthy relationships don't just happen. They take work, vulnerability, and a willingness to get past our own ego. Many people have been sold a false, romanticized version of love that we meet the "right" person and everything falls into place.
