#ADHD feels like a contradiction. We have severe difficulty focusing on some (boring) things but can also obsessively focus on some (interesting) things. This apparent dichotomy stems from the same issue: we have difficulty controlling our attention.

Those who say sex is a spectrum don’t realise how rare intersex humans are. Frequency histogram runs out of graph paper, so represent frequency of unambiguous males & females by NY’s twin towers respectively. Then frequency of intersexes is a medium sized molehill. Sex is binary.
@KatyElphinstone It's not a protected term. Anyone can fancy themselves to be a therapist, no matter how bizarre their methods or totally untrained they might be. Example below from a charity which explains one needs no training whatsoever to do this to children.

Danny’s been crawling around inside my head. 😭 what’s worse is I know I should go, because I know I’ll feel better, I just can’t get over that lump…
I still struggle to go out unless I have a 'good reason', even when medicated. So if I don't have a 'good reason', I stay in, which makes me feel worse and makes it harder to go out. But then every time I'm coaxed out, I immediately feel better. Every damn time.

@ABCsofADHD I’m the same outside of work I’m a bit of a hermit unless my friends invite me out, it’s rare for me to initiate going out anywhere and I hate leaving the house mroe than once per day
my little sister is 5. my birthday isn't even near and she already has princess cake ko plans for me😭 and then she goes "manu diju lai heart vako cup ma chiya diso hai mamu." all these while having burns on legs, this child has my whole heart🥺🫶🏻
@ABCsofADHD Took me a long time to see how it was affecting me. A lot of the RSD i have is from anticipating someones reaction and being too overwhelmed by having to navigate my response by having to be “on”, and its just easier not to. That never felt like “rejection” but it is
I am told that the headlines really undersell how rad my tattoo is. I agree.
@AlanaFeral I'm almost certain the second to last was just a woman brandishing her gun in response to a death threat, but it's funny how they need to fake at least 2 of these examples when you can find 9 legitimate examples of different cis shooters with RW politics, dozens of times over.

@ABCsofADHD This is my experience to a T. A lot of people don't realize with that much fog it's hard to figure out solutions to problems in the moment... because you often don't have enough awareness to even *notice* things.
