AI RCM is working in favor of provider profitability (e.g. recent $1B 2023-2025 additional BCBS complexity coding). However, consumers get hurt (e.g. higher premiums). Profitability and consumer-first / CHOICE are both important to healthcare imo. Pro healthcare profitability/innovation, pay(vid)or, and other AHP (e.g. CHOICE services) that help put the consumers first. The McK stats paint a better picture than reality; so many non-profits are almost distressed annually (~25%). 10% of revenue is non-patient (donations, investments, real estate). Unsure what % real estate investment is, but real estate investment due to consumer demand and ability to serve increasingly complex care is a good thing imo (not saying it all is either). Thanks for responding! I think the onus for this future is on AHP’s (e.g. Payvidors, health benefits platforms) to equip their consumers with easy-to-use and adequately capable personal assistants. Provider inbound from AI is downstream of that gate. Rooting for you and @ProsperAI_HQ, and will definitely share the article!
