@ICICIBank_Care@PayUindiaCare
ICICI Bank keeps changing the deadline, but till today I have not received a proper answer as to why my UPI chargeback amount has still not been credited to my account.
First, I was told that I would receive an update by 26 August. Now, I have again been given a deadline of 28 August. But there is still no clear explanation about what the actual issue is or which company/process my money is currently stuck with.
Now this matter is public.
ICICI Bank and PayU must clearly answer:
Where is my chargeback amount currently stuck, and why has it still not been credited to my account?
If I do not receive a proper and satisfactory response, I will make the complete timeline and all the responses I have received public, so that people can see what happened in this transaction and where the money/process got stuck.
No more generic responses like “we are looking into it.”
I want a clear, transaction-specific and final answer.
@PayUIndia@ICICIBank
FINAL NOTICE.
My ₹4,999 chargeback was closed in my favour on 01-Jul-2026.
It has now been almost 2 months, yet the amount has still NOT been credited to my account.
I formally escalated this matter to PayU Legal on 20-Aug-2026 and specifically demanded documentary proof showing where my money is, when it was released, and the relevant UTR/transaction/reference details.
6 days have passed. No substantive response.
I am no longer asking for assurances, apologies or another callback.
I want the PROOF:
• Where is my ₹4,999?
• On what exact date was it released?
• Where was it sent?
• UTR / transaction reference?
• If ICICI processed it, where is the processing/settlement proof?
• If you claim it was credited, show the evidence that my bank can trace.
I have the complete correspondence, chargeback confirmation, bank records and supporting documents.
Now provide the proof or explain publicly where my money is.
I am proceeding with further regulatory/legal escalation based on the records available with me.
@PayUIndia@PayUIndiaCare
I am posting these two communications because there is a clear contradiction in what I have been told.
On 11-Aug-2026, PayU confirmed in writing:
“Chargeback closed in your favour dated 01-Jul-26” and asked me to contact my bank for the funds.
Now, PayU is saying that the same case was “re-accepted at BO level on 21-August” and that I should wait another 7–10 days for the funds to be credited.
If the chargeback was already closed in my favour on 01-Jul-2026, why was it re-accepted again on 21-August?
I have been given enough contradictory information and delays. I am therefore going to publish the complete evidence shortly.
I will show, based on the records in my possession:
• Where my payment was originally processed
• What happened to the funds
• The complete chargeback timeline
• Communications from PayU and the concerned banks
• How the legitimate chargeback/payment flow actually worked in this case
I have the supporting documents and records. I will let the evidence speak for itself.
PayU, you have left me with no reasonable option except to make the matter transparent publicly.
Within the next few hours, I will start posting the relevant evidence.
If you believe any statement above is incorrect, you are welcome to publicly provide the documentary proof and clarify the contradiction.
I am not afraid of any lawful action. If you believe my publication violates any law or agreement, you may take whatever lawful action you consider appropriate. I will respond on the basis of the records and evidence available with me.
@PayUIndia I have seen your response.
You have referred to emails with subject lines relating to other Chargeback IDs. My specific matter is:
PayU ID: 28975796353
Amount: ₹4,999
Chargeback closed in my favour: 01-Jul-2026
Bank Reference No.: 615967005864
Please clarify whether the email/proof you are referring to specifically establishes the release and destination of this exact ₹4,999 amount.
If yes, please identify the relevant transaction/UTR/reference in that email so my bank can trace it.
If not, please provide the specific documentary proof for this chargeback.
I am asking for the proof of my exact transaction, not proof relating to other Chargeback IDs.
@PayUIndia — I have had enough of this matter being left unresolved.
I will soon publicly reveal where my payment went, what happened to the funds, the complete timeline of events, and the facts surrounding this case.
I have all the relevant documents, correspondence, transaction records, and supporting proof with me.
I am not making allegations without evidence. I will present the available records and let the facts speak for themselves.
Someone from PayU’s senior management should contact me directly before I proceed further.
@PayUIndia, you stated that the good-faith manual adjustment was processed and accepted by the remitter bank through the NPCI network, and that the issue was resolved from the bank’s end.
However, the amount is still NOT credited to my bank account.
You also promised that your relevant team would contact me on Monday, but no one contacted me.
This matter has been pending since 1 July. I have already waited long enough.
If the adjustment was genuinely processed, please provide the transaction/UTR/reference details and the exact date on which the funds were sent, so my bank can verify it.
I need a clear written explanation and immediate action — not another assurance or delay.
@PayUindiaCare The chargeback was closed in my favour on 1 July, and I have already given more than enough time for this matter to be resolved. It has now been pending for far too long.
I have followed up repeatedly and provided the required documents and proof. At this stage, another delay until Monday is not acceptable.
Please arrange the callback today and have a responsible senior person speak with me directly. I need a clear explanation and resolution, not another extension of the timeline.
@PayU — Your team has still not answered my specific questions.
You previously asked me to contact my bank, and I already did so. I have provided the required documents and bank confirmation.
My simple question remains:
If the chargeback was closed in my favour on 01 July 2026, why has the amount still not been credited to me, and why was I repeatedly told to contact my bank instead of PayU resolving the matter?
Please provide a clear written explanation and the current status of the funds.
I have already spent considerable time following your instructions. Please do not send me another generic response or redirect me to my bank.
If PayU believes that the amount was already processed/paid, then please provide the relevant transaction/reference proof so that the matter can be independently verified.
I am requesting a proper answer publicly and through the official channel. If no satisfactory response is provided, I will place the complete correspondence and records before the appropriate regulatory/grievance authority for review.
@PayU — Please answer the actual questions instead of redirecting me again.
PayU & ICICI Bank — Please Answer Clearly
PayU has officially confirmed that PayU ID 28975796353 – Chargeback was closed in my favour on 01-Jul-2026, with Bank Reference No. 615967005864.
However, despite this confirmation, the ₹4,999 amount has still not been credited to my bank account.
More importantly, IDFC FIRST Bank’s official email states that the chargeback for the same UPI transaction was allegedly rejected by the beneficiary bank on 10-Jul-2026 under Reference No. 1154074687.
There is a clear contradiction between the communications.
PayU & ICICI Bank, please answer publicly:
If the chargeback was closed in my favour on 01-Jul-2026, where is my ₹4,999?
Was the amount actually remitted/settled? If yes, provide the UTR/settlement reference and date.
If the transaction was rejected on 10-Jul-2026, why did PayU confirm on 11-Aug-2026 that the chargeback was already closed in my favour?
If the funds are with ICICI/beneficiary bank, please confirm the exact status and release the amount without further delay.
I have already contacted the concerned banks and provided the required details. I need a clear written resolution, not another instruction to contact another department/bank.
@PayU@ICICIBank — Please investigate and provide a definitive answer.
@ICICIBank@ICICIBank_Care I have already contacted your team multiple times and provided the required details and proofs, but I have not received a proper resolution.
So please do not ask me to contact you again. You have my contact details already. Please have your concerned/Nodal team contact me directly and provide the complete transaction/chargeback status, reason for rejection, and supporting records/proof from ICICI’s side.
I have already done everything required from my side. Now I request ICICI to contact me directly and provide the evidence and explanation from your side.
@ICICIBank_Care @ICICIBank@ICICIBank_Care Please do not simply ask me to DM. I need a clear written explanation and transaction/chargeback status from ICICI. I am ready to provide all documents through the official channel.
PayU & ICICI Bank, please answer publicly.
My chargeback was clearly closed in my favour on 01 July 2026. Then why was the request allegedly rejected by ICICI on 11 July 2026?
If the chargeback was already decided in my favour, what was the basis/reason for rejecting the request on 11 July?
PayU: Please publicly explain why the amount has still not been credited to me.
ICICI Bank: Please publicly explain the reason and authority under which the request was rejected on 11 July, despite the chargeback being closed in my favour on 1 July.
I have been asking for a clear answer, but instead of answering the actual question, I am receiving no proper resolution.
@PayU@ICICIBank — Please answer this specific question publicly.
@PayUIndia For the last 10 days, you have repeatedly told me that the chargeback amount was already processed/sent to my bank.
Now your latest response says that the transaction was processed again today and will take another 3–4 working days.
Then please explain: if the amount was already sent to my bank 10 days ago, why is it being processed again today?
If PayU is confident that its earlier statements were correct, then please come forward and answer the exact questions raised in my email, with documentary proof.
You are asking me to move this to DM. If you are correct, come forward and clarify the matter. Let the public see the facts and understand whether PayU's statements are consistent or not.
I have preserved all emails, bank proof and your responses. Please be prepared to substantiate every statement you have made and answer the same appropriately before the concerned regulatory/legal authorities.
I am ready with my documents. Please be ready with yours.
@PayUindia@PayUindiaCare You are refusing to provide me the supporting proof/documentation for the chargeback and are simply asking me to contact my bank.
If you have actually processed and closed the chargeback, you will have to provide the relevant records and supporting documents to the concerned regulatory authority when asked.
I will also submit the complete email trail to RBI, including every response received from PayU, clearly showing what information I requested and what response I received.
I have preserved all communications and records. Let the concerned authority review the matter and determine who has fulfilled their responsibility.
PayU, a company of this scale should be able to provide proper documentary evidence instead of shifting responsibility to the customer. Now, I will let RBI review the entire matter.
@PayUIndia You are asking me to contact you via DM, but the issue is that you have not even properly responded to the email whose screenshot I have already shared publicly.
I have already contacted your team through the official email channel and provided the required details. Despite that, the matter remains unresolved and I have received no proper documentary response to the specific questions raised in that email.
If PayU does not respond to the actual questions and provide the required proof, then I have no reason to keep repeating the same request privately.
That is why I am being forced to bring the complete matter into the public domain. I will share the relevant communication and evidence publicly after properly redacting sensitive personal and banking information, so that people can see exactly what was communicated and how this matter was handled.
First respond to the email and provide the documentary proof. Then there will be no need for further public escalation.
@PayUIndia Your latest response raises a serious question.
Earlier, you clearly told me that the chargeback had already been processed/closed and the amount was sent to the bank, and I was instructed to contact my bank.
Now you are saying that “the transaction was processed again today” and that it will reflect within 3–4 working days.
So please clarify:
If the chargeback was already processed earlier, why has the transaction been processed again today?
Please provide the documentary proof/reference for the earlier processing as well as this new processing.
I have preserved all your previous emails and responses. I will submit the complete communication trail to the concerned authority so that it can be verified exactly what PayU communicated to me at each stage.
Please give me a clear and consistent answer instead of changing the explanation.
@AnirbanPayU@PayUindiaCare @PayUindia I have already given your team sufficient opportunities to resolve this matter.
I do not need further assurances that “the relevant team will assist me over email.” I need a clear answer and documentary proof regarding the chargeback and the ₹1,37,994 that remains unresolved.
I have preserved the complete email trail, bank proof, PayU responses and all relevant records. If this matter is not properly resolved within 1 day, I will proceed with the appropriate regulatory and legal escalation.
I will also publish the relevant correspondence and supporting evidence on X, with sensitive personal/banking information properly redacted, so that the public can see the complete sequence of events and PayU's responses.
A company of PayU's scale should be able to provide clear documentary proof instead of repeatedly directing the customer elsewhere.
No more generic assurances. Provide the proof and resolve the matter.
@PayUIndia I have already contacted my bank as instructed, and my bank has confirmed that the amount has not been credited.
My simple question to PayU is: if you are stating that the chargeback was processed/closed, please provide the supporting proof/documentation and settlement confirmation available with PayU.
I am not asking you to repeat the PayU ID or bank reference number. I am asking for the actual proof that the amount was processed/settled.
If you have the proof, please provide it. If you do not wish to provide it to me, I will submit the complete email/Twitter communication to RBI and let the concerned authority examine the records.
Nothing more is required from my side. Please provide the documentary proof.
