I might be wrong, but I am not bullish on computer use.
The models are insanely smart. But we are forcing them to watch a screen, find a button, click it, wait, and check the result. All through an interface designed for humans.
The token economics and speed are just not good.
Computer use still makes sense for legacy software with no API or agent interface. Sometimes there is no other option.
But for any sort of modern software, I think we should give agents something they can use directly: structured data, APIs, terminals, SSH, and permissioned access to the environment.
Agents can read thousands of lines of logs and parameters easily. Why make them click through Chrome?
NVIDIA and Broadcom will become "safe haven" stocks if inflation goes up.
Hedge funds would probably rotate into $NVDA and $AVGO in size if this mechanism manifests:
Higher inflation -> higher rates -> bonds fall.
PMs will need to find a new hiding place within equities (cos bonds will be selling-off). They'll then ask: whose earnings are least connected to what's going wrong?
I think that'll be $NVDA and $AVGO ...
They've got the most stable/visible earnings growth driven by hyperscaler capex - and there's little risk of capex slowing thanks to hyperscalers' cloud backlogs being at enormous levels. Basically, capex won't slow if Fed hikes 25 bps lol.
These NVDA/AVGO longs will be funded by shorts in companies reliant on household spending e.g. consumer disc. and homebuilders. Real wages have been -ve for 4 months (3.2% wage growth vs 3.4% CPI) and Jul'26 payrolls were -ve too.
This'll be the L/S playbook that most equity L/S books will run imo. It'll also reverse the August trade which was money leaving semis for lagging software names in a relatively "calmer" environment to the one I'm painting.
This scenario doesn't work if:
1. Trump signs an MOU, meaning oil prices fall.
2. Inflation is in core rather than oil, and Warsh hikes into job losses = all growth names sell-off lol.
Time will tell.
A chip startup was worth $5 billion in December. Today it's worth $21 billion.
Etched just raised $700 million led by Jane Street, with Sequoia, a16z, Kleiner Perkins, Tiger Global, Blackstone, and Peter Thiel participating. It raised at $10.3 billion just last month.
Here's what separates it from typical AI hype. Jane Street tested the hardware, bought it, took delivery of the first rack, and then led the round. A quant fund that lives on latency ran it in production before writing the check.
Their words were that they tested the chip, are pleased with the early results, and that it delivers the precision they need for their most demanding workloads.
The technology is genuinely clever. Inference happens in two stages, prefill where the model reads your prompt, and decode where it generates the answer token by token. Those stages need very different hardware, and a GPU handles both with the same silicon.
Etched built separate architecture for each, a low-voltage prefill chip plus new memory and interconnect for decode, connecting many chips to a shared memory pool with low latency. That's the actual bottleneck in generation.
They sell complete systems they call frontier inference clusters. Nvidia calls theirs AI factories.
Inference is where most AI compute spending ends up, and general purpose GPUs are structurally inefficient at it. That's the whole bet, and now there's a customer running it in production.

🚨 Howard Lutnick's family firm bought up the rights to tariff refunds for 20-30 cents on the dollar after Liberation Day last year.
Today, the Supreme Court struck the tariffs down. For every $100 invested, Lutnick's sons just made 3-5x.
Welcome to Crony Corrupt America.
The great divide:
Just before US household net worth jumped by +$7.1 trillion in 3 months, consumer expectations hit record lows.
In early-2025, US consumers' expectations about their financial situation over the next 12 months dropped to the LOWEST level on record.
The reality is that the current wealth gap, which is set to grow further, has resulted in a polarized perception of the US economy.
The bottom 50% of US households now hold just 2.5% of total US wealth.
As a result, the richest Americans think the economy is strong and the rest believe we are in a recession.
Rate cuts will soon widen this gap even further.
This is historic:
Newly released data shows that US household net worth jumped by +$7.1 TRILLION in Q2 2025 alone.
In other words, for 3-straight months, US households added an average of +$79 BILLION in net worth PER DAY.
What just happened? Let us explain.
(a thread)
An important question in American society can be summarized as follows:
When a deranged person commits a heinous act, what is the right societal response? Is it to limit the personal rights and freedoms of everyone else (ie those who didn’t do anything wrong)? Or should it be to find ways of identifying derangement and then act upon it with their and society’s safety in mind?
It is worth noting that technology is at a stage now where we can do the latter quite precisely.
Solana is the most obvious contrarian play in markets
i) crypto will continue to grow
markets, traders, and consumers will continue to come onchain
there is no stopping crypto at this point
ii) Solana has proven consistently for the past 4 years that it is a top destination for builders, traders, and consumers
iii) It has done this through a combination of unmatched engineering execution, the attracting of world-class product talent, and a maniacal focus on the user
it has shown that it can execute in the harshest conditions
iv) it has structural advantages that are hard to replicate. a giant global state machine that can actually be censorship resistant and performant translates to concentrated liquidity, great UX, and rapid experimentation
v) this has resulted in it being top 1 and 2 in basically all metrics including revenues, volumes, developers, startups, growth rate, etc
vi) yet people might discard all of the above because
*checks notes*
people also launch shitcoins on it (just like all other chains)
vii) importantly, Solana does not require that you be bearish another asset
look at the history of any tech race, it is *always* pareto distributed to the top 2-4
mobile: ios and android (google, samsung, huawei, apple)
pc: windows, mac, linux
cloud: aws, gcp, azure, do
gaming: ps, xbox, nintendo
cars: too many to name
ai: chatgpt, gemini, claude
mobile carriers, msging apps, social media — always the same story
you do not need to believe that Solana will be the only chain, you just need to believe that it will continue to execute, as it always has
and that I can guarantee you, we will not be outworked
More than 3 years ago I predicted the Fed would increase their inflation target rate.
Today they did something even crazier — they completely removed a reference to any inflation target at all.
The money printer is coming.
