A helpful way to cut down on technology usage is to plan breaks throughout the day where you should put your phone out of reach. This way it can help you accomplish more things that need to be done(Braff).
You shouldn’t rely on yourself to put away your technology, because before you know it, you’ll be on it again. If you want to cut down, you need to ask for help(Braff).
You can also rearrange the furniture in your family room to help stop technology addiction because it makes it so the TV isn’t the focal point of the room(Reader’s Digest).
One thing that can help with regaining the strength in your eyes is to follow the 20-20-20 rule. You take a 20 second break from the screen every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away(Witten).
How many hours do you spend on your phone a day?
The younger ages tend to check their phone more often than others, but ages 35-54 still check them at a significant amount(Fitzgerald).
Generation Z looks to be in last for the time spent on phones at meal time, but that age group is one of the highest in phone addiction today in general, not just at the table(The Editorial Team).

In 2002, the World Health Organization stated that physical inactivity was the leading cause of disease and disability, and that’s due to sitting on phones and computers daily(Kubota).
I had to rush to the emergency room because I was having blurred vision and a terrible headache. I had to stay overnight. The neurologist said it could possibly been a stroke, but it ended up being an ocular migraine.
Looking at a screen for too long can cause eye strain, which can lead to blurred vision, headaches, and migraines(Hosale).
Looking down at phones can cause severe neck strain, causing the next to lose its natural curve(Hosale).
Using technology so much has shortened our attention span from 12 to 5 minutes, due to constant updates on notifications(Hosale).
If you have mental and emotional disturbances, like anxiety, delusions, and phobias, you may be suffering from neurosis(Hosale).
Due to being on all kinds of technology now, it’s much easier for the government and hackers to know more about our personal life and wreck our privacy(Hosale).
Ages 18-24 are more addicted to phones than younger teenagers. But this is the age of college students, who shouldn’t be addicted to their devices due to studying(Saracut).
According to Flavius Saracut, 8% more females are addicted to mobile devices than the average user, and males are 8% less addicted.
Depression can be caused due to the lack of human contact, overeating, and the lack of exercise(Hosale).
Blackberry/iPhone thumb is a form of repetitive strain that’s caused by the frequent use of thumbs to press buttons on devices(Hosale).
