In Europe, DAC8 has turned “Know Your Customer” into “Kill Your Customer.” Today, Bull Bitcoin is officially opening the first legal front against DAC8. We have brought a case before France’s Conseil d’État, the country’s highest administrative court, to strike down the decree implementing DAC8 in French law. Since January 1, 2026, DAC8 has required crypto-asset service providers to systematically collect user and transaction data and subsequently report it to national tax authorities. These authorities will automatically exchange this information across the European Union and with tax administrations in other participating countries around the world. The result is a massive international financial-data honeypot linking people’s legal identities, home addresses and crypto activity, including information with no relevance whatsoever to taxation. This is grossly disproportionate and poses a serious threat to the physical safety of crypto holders and their families. Until now, most customer data remained within each crypto-asset service provider unless a suspicious transaction was reported or a competent authority made a lawful request. DAC8 replaces this model with the systematic reporting and cross-border sharing of highly sensitive financial information. The more authorities, civil servants, contractors, systems and foreign jurisdictions that have access to this data, the greater the risk that it will eventually be leaked, stolen, illegally accessed or sold to criminal organizations. At the same time, kidnappings and violent attacks against crypto holders and their families are rising, with leaked personal and financial data increasingly being used to identify and target victims. France has already suffered numerous breaches of highly sensitive government and financial databases. Given enough time, a database of this scale is almost certain to be breached. When that happens, criminal organizations will gain a ready-made map of who to target and where to find them. This is not responsible financial oversight. It is a recipe for disaster. We filed our initial application before the Conseil d'État on February 24, 2026, followed by a substantive legal brief setting out the full grounds of our case. This is not a symbolic gesture. It is a serious legal action, grounded in law and handled by experienced legal professionals. We are seeking the outright annulment of the French decree implementing DAC8’s crypto-asset reporting regime, on the grounds that automated mass financial-data collection violates fundamental human rights. If necessary, we are prepared to take this fight before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the French Constitutional Council. A victory in France could establish an important judicial precedent and provide a blueprint for other European actors seeking to fight DAC8 in their own countries. Someone has to draw a line in the sand. Bull Bitcoin is willing to do it. Everyone please raise an alarm and tag all Apple related accounts. Craig/Sparrow tried to warn users of scam mobile apps and by doing so somehow got flagged. If this isn't rectified there may be no more Sparrow on Mac. Unreal from the @AppStore @Apple

My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity". Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end.

My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity". Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end. The context: since 2023, more than a dozen fake "Sparrow" apps have appeared on the App Store, as recently as April this year. Users have contacted me after losing their savings, in some cases their life savings, to these impersonators. I'm the developer of the real Sparrow Wallet, a desktop app, and I hold the registered US trademarks for the name and logo. I have publicly warned @Apple and the community about these fake apps from early 2024, but they keep appearing. The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other "Sparrow" apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it. I'm confident this is an automated misclassification that Apple would reverse on review - but I may be terminated before a human ever looks at my appeal. The cost would fall on @Apple's own users: blocked installs and no updates for a tool people rely on, which opens the door for more fakes. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport

I will defend Firefox before I defend Brave. And I do not even use Firefox. I use Zen. It is not the most private browser on earth, but it is a real improvement over base Firefox and I love using it. If you want Chromium, Helium is great. Ungoogled Chromium is great. There are good options in every direction. Brave is not one of them. Brave is not a privacy browser. Brave is a crypto scammer company. Default install today: BAT rewards, Brave Wallet, Leo AI, Brave VPN, Brave News, Brave Talk, Brave Search promos, sponsored new tab page, built-in torrent client. There are entire community projects whose only job is to ship registry scripts that turn this stuff off. Users debloat a "privacy" browser. Read that again. And the track record is rough. 2020: Brave got caught auto-injecting its own affiliate code into URLs you typed yourself. You typed binance . us, Brave silently rewrote it to binance . us/?ref=35089877. Same for Coinbase, Ledger, Trezor. Brendan Eich defended it first, called it a mistake only after the backlash. Open source did not save anyone here. The code sat in the repo for ten weeks before anyone noticed. 2018: Brave collected BAT "donations" for Tom Scott and other creators who had never signed up, using their names and photos. When Scott asked for the money back, Brave said refunds were impossible. 2021: Brave's built-in Tor mode leaked every . onion address you visited to your regular DNS provider for months. If you used Brave to hide your dark-web activity, your ISP saw all of it. The bug shipped to stable in November 2020 and only got fixed in February 2021 after a researcher went public. Use what you love. Zen, Librewolf, Mullvad, Helium, Ungoogled Chromium, base Firefox if you want, even Safari. A browser whose business model is shoving shitcoin and a paid VPN at you is not a privacy product. It is an ad-tech company with better marketing.
