Sometimes I just want to shake our universities and colleges of Medicine and ask them “Are you choosing people who are doing medicine to help where they’re needed?” Look at your cohorts and show me how you’re encouraging them to work rurally. Show me.
In Wawa it’s 50%. For White River it’s nearly 100% and they have not had a doctor in years. Luckily they have an NP clinic but doctors are thin on the ground up here in N Ontario.
