@currys Fridge freezer installed a week ago with faulty interior light. An installation team arrived today who couldn’t work out why they’d been sent, followed by engineer and hour later said it can’t be fixed, needed replacing. All afternoon on phone to no resolve. Unbelievable

🚨 THREAD: They Lost the Vote. Then They Cheated. The GOP didn’t win the Big Beautiful Bill. They lost; on the floor, on the scoreboard, and in full public view. Final tally when the clock expired: 217 NAY, 207 YEA They were finished. But Speaker Mike Johnson refused to close the vote. Why? Because they knew they couldn’t win fair. So they kept the vote open indefinitely, something rarely done unless you’re trying to flip people under pressure. This was a hostage negotiation. Lawmakers were pulled into backrooms, phones were whipped out, Trump’s name was dropped like a threat. And one by one, the “No” votes began flipping. Republicans bent the rules and dragged this vote out longer than any in House history; just to reverse the outcome after losing. This is why Americans don’t trust Washington. Because even when we win the fight, they rig the clock. Let this be clear: The House GOP held the vote open until they could flip enough Republicans to recast their votes. That’s not leadership. That’s legislative manipulation. Two Republicans stood tall: Thomas Massie and Brian Fitzpatrick refused to cave. But the rest? They folded like cheap lawn chairs. If this bill leads to mass deportations, Medicaid cuts, and gutting of essential services. Remember: It wasn’t a fair vote. It was a stolen one.

Saw this on Linked In…powerful…. We will never forget. "Dear 77,301,997 Americans who voted for Trump, Being Canadian has never been about shouting the loudest. We don’t pound our chests or demand attention. We are sometimes like the quiet kid on the playground, just wanting to get along with others. We hold doors, say sorry even when it’s not our fault, and shovel our neighbour’s driveway just because it’s the right thing to do. We believe in fairness, decency, and looking out for one another. We are the world’s greatest neighbour… and yes, our spelling is the correct one. We show up. In the words of our Prime Minister on Saturday night, “from the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of the Korean Peninsula, from the fields of Flanders to the streets of Kandahar, we have fought and died alongside you during your darkest hours. During the summer of 2005, when Hurricane Katrina ravaged your great city of New Orleans, or mere weeks ago, when we sent water bombers to tackle the wildfires in California, and during the day the world stood still — Sept. 11, 2001 — when we provided refuge to stranded passengers and planes, we were always there, standing with you”. And yet, here we are – watching your president, a man who built his legacy on bullying, turn his sights on us. He mocks us, belittles us, and treats us like some inconvenience rather than the ally who has stood by you through thick and thin. It’s easy to mistake our politeness for passivity, or our kindness for weakness. But here’s the thing about the quiet kid on the playground: push that kid far enough, and that kid pushes back. Canada has never needed to boast about its strength. We just prove it. On battlefields. In boardrooms. On the ice. So, if you think you can push us around and take us for granted – think again. You think we will become your “cherished 51st state” – think again. Underestimate us… that will be fun. Because the quiet kid? The quiet kid remembers. And when the quiet kid finally stands up, the whole playground takes notice. Now we are pissed. Sincerely, Canada"

@weare1of100 Think I need this too, and maybe a FCKFRG

Nigel Farage says it upsets him when people call the far-right violence 'The Farage Riots'. So people should definitely not do that

Protests? Asking questions? They’re throwing bricks mate. They’re looting shops and setting light to cars and beating up coppers. If this was eco-crusties throwing piss at a painting you’d be calling for them to throw away the key.

Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, it’s merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned in. Break them up.

With Twitter's change in ownership last week, I'm probably in the clear to talk about the most unethical thing I was asked to build while working at Twitter. 🧵
